Team fortress 2 100 validating
Do what you will with [email protected] To Hell I didn't say it is and I'm glad to hear your HDD is running well.As I said, the HDD of mine that this happened on failed within 2 years and so this problem may be an indicator of a larger problem.
For a few months now, Steam has been validating my files whenever I open it. What exactly is Steam doing when it says that it is validating files, and why does it need to do it so frequently?
Here's what it looks like: After finding only way too many unsatisfactorily answered questions identical to this, I came to the conclusion that Steam sucks and just decided to live with it.
My Steam wants to validate TF2 at least every other day for some reason, which takes a good 5 to 10 minutes.
My HDD could have failed for any number of possible reasons, but I have no way to know.
I recently restored my computer back to factory settings (clean os) after screwing it up, but I kept source 2007 shared materials.gcf, source 2007 shared models.gcf, source 2007 shared sounds.gcf, source materials.gcf, source models.gcf, source sounds.gcf, team fortress 2 client content.gfcf, team fortress 2 content.gcf, and team fortress 2 on a 16 gb flash drive, so I could just verify integrity of local cache and not have to redownload 13 gb of stuff.
